Sirajganj’s Kazipur police station has been accused of irregularities, accepting bribes and favoring the defendants in the investigation of the rape case by the then officer-in-charge (OC) Shah Md. Enayetur Rahman and Investigating Officer Sub-Inspector (SI) against Raphael Chambu. On Wednesday (September 16) in the press conference organized at Sirajganj Central Press Club, the plaintiff Amena Khatun’s husband Md. Farooq Shah made these allegations. In a written statement, Farooq Shaha said that on the night of December 9, 2025, his 18-year-old daughter was raped by two men named Zahid and Roman with sharp weapons. He alleged that they recorded the rape video at that time.

At the time of receiving the case, the plaintiff was detained in the police station for two days and two nights, then OC Shah Md. Enayetur Rahman seized a large amount of money from the accused and detained the victim and the plaintiff in the police station to destroy the evidence of the case. The investigating officer SI Raphael Chambugong took 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees and another 50 thousand rupees by promising to recover the video.

In the press conference, Farooq Shah also complained that the actual mobile phone of the accused who recorded the video was not recovered and another phone was submitted as evidence. He claimed that it raised questions about the important evidence of the case. The plaintiff’s husband also said that currently SI Golzar is investigating the case. It was also informed in the press conference that he has submitted a preliminary report.

Farooq Shah alleged that the accused in the case are threatening to kill him and his family to withdraw the case after being released on bail. In the press conference, the victim’s family demanded a fair and impartial re-investigation of the case, action against the police officials involved in bribery and negligence and ensuring the safety of the family.
