With the theme of ‘Safe Food for Life and Health’, a ‘Mobile Safe Food Laboratory’ has been launched for Mymensingh Division with the aim of quickly identifying adulterated and substandard food products and ensuring immediate test results. Those concerned hope that through this laboratory, food quality testing activities in the four districts of Mymensingh Division will become more dynamic. Divisional Commissioner SM Humayun Kabir Sarkar officially inaugurated this mobile laboratory in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office on Monday (August 03).
At the time, the Divisional Commissioner said that ensuring safe food is very important for the protection of people’s lives and health. Through the mobile safe food laboratory, it will now be possible to quickly identify adulterated and unsafe food by testing food samples during the campaign and take immediate legal action.
He also said that the modern laboratory equipment of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority will further strengthen food safety activities at the field level and play an important role in public health protection.
The program, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Saifur Rahman, was attended by Divisional Food Safety Officer Atiqur Rahman, District Food Safety Officer Mahbub Arefin Rafi, and Director of the Department of Youth Development Harun Or Rashid, among others, and officials from various government departments.
