Hafez Md. Mizanur Rahman Howlader is a well-known figure in Koloskathi Union. He is recognized by locals for his cheerful nature, organizational skills, and altruistic mindset. His journey into nationalist politics began in 1997 through the Chhatra Dal. Throughout his long political career, he has faced numerous adversities and has been imprisoned on multiple occasions. Mizanur Rahman completed his studies in the *Hifz* (Quran memorization) department of Barishal Mahmudia Madrasa in 1993.

Subsequently, he passed his SSC examination from Koloskathi BM Academy in 1997, his HSC from Koloskathi Degree College in 1999, and his BSc from the same college in 2002. His family also has a long history of political involvement. His father retired from the army with the rank of Warrant Officer in 1990. Later, his father was elected multiple times as the President of Ward No. 1 of the Koloskathi Union BNP.

Mizanur Rahman’s uncle, Freedom Fighter Abdul Haque Howlader, was also elected General Secretary of the Koloskathi Union BNP on several occasions. His eldest son, Rafizur Rahman, currently serves as the General Secretary of the Koloskathi Union Chhatra Dal. Mizanur Rahman is currently a member of the Barishal District Jubo Dal and holds the position of Member No. 1 of the Bakerganj Upazila Jubo Dal. During the previous regime, he remained active in various processions, rallies, and party activities.

He worked to keep party leaders and activists motivated even during challenging times. Within the party, he is known as a trusted and reliable associate of Abul Hossain Khan, the Member of Parliament for the Barishal-6 (Bakerganj) constituency. Due to his long-standing political involvement and active role in organizational work, he maintains close ties with local party leaders and activists.

Alongside politics, Hafez Md. Mizanur Rahman Howlader is also involved in local development initiatives. Since August 5, he has been working quietly—shunning publicity—on initiatives to develop the roads, bridges, and culverts of Kolaskathi and to prevent river erosion. His long-standing association with the organization and his commitment to standing by the people have earned him the trust of local youths as well.
