A media advocacy meeting was held at Gaibandha under the ‘Agricultural Prosperity Project’ to promote agriculture and agribusiness, create new entrepreneurs and further expand the agricultural sector through modern technology. The meeting was held on Tuesday (September 16) at 3 pm in Dakshidhanghara village of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila. In the meeting organized under ‘KRISHI CONNECT’, development of agriculture-based business and entrepreneurship, expansion of agriculture sector through the use of online platforms and apps and increasing communication and cooperation between those related to agriculture were discussed. ‎

In the meeting, the potential of various businesses and entrepreneurial development in agriculture sector including fish feed, cattle feed, poultry feed and sheep feed came up. Besides, emphasis is placed on increasing the scope of agricultural business through the use of online platforms by involving farmers and entrepreneurs with modern technology. In the discussion, the speakers said that agriculture is one of the most important sectors of Bangladesh’s economy and rural life. Integrating technology with agriculture will facilitate communication between producers, entrepreneurs and buyers.

At the same time, online platforms can play an important role in creating new opportunities for agricultural businesses and expanding the market for entrepreneurs. Hosne Ara presided over the meeting. Amiya Prapan Ork, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) was present as the chief guest. Nadeem and related persons were also present. Journalists from various print and electronic media were present at the event. They discussed various aspects of agribusiness prospects, entrepreneurship development and technology-based agricultural activities. ‎

The organizers said, the main objective of the ‘KRISHI SOMRIDDHI PROJECT’ is to expand agriculture and agri-based businesses, support the development of entrepreneurs, encourage the use of online platforms and apps and increase communication and cooperation between individuals and organizations related to the agricultural sector. The project is being implemented in collaboration with South Korea’s Smile Together Partnership (STP) and Dhruvatara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF).
