Chief Guest Professor Golam Rasul announced that a public meeting will be held at 2:30 PM at the Jashore Murli intersection to ensure the success of the long march scheduled for October 31st. The march demands the implementation of a seven-point agenda, including the mandate from a national referendum. The fascist Sheikh Hasina fled following a mass uprising of students and the general public. The current government—a product of this uprising—has betrayed the people by failing to implement the “July Charter,” which embodies the demands of the students and the public.

Although top BNP leaders campaigned in favor of a referendum, they have failed to implement the referendum mandate since coming to power. Due to widespread politicization, extortion, illegal land grabbing, and corruption across the country, the prices of essential commodities have risen beyond the purchasing power of ordinary citizens. Furthermore, the mismanagement of fertilizer distribution nationwide—specifically by granting dealerships to party loyalists—has created an artificial fertilizer crisis.

The government is following in the footsteps of the fascist Sheikh Hasina. Addressing the students, he urged them and the general public to work together in a unified manner to ensure the success of the long march. The discussion meeting, organized by the Jashore city and district branches of the Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, was held yesterday, Monday afternoon, at the auditorium of the Jashore District Jamaat-e-Islami office. It was presided over by Ubaidullah, President of the Chhatra Shibir Jashore city branch. Professor Golam Rasul, MP, the Jashore District Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, served as the chief guest.

Special guests included Principal Abu Jafar Siddiqui (Jashore District Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami), Assistant Secretaries Golam Quddus and Maulana Rezaul Karim, Professor Shamsuzzaman, District Publicity Secretary Professor Shahabuddin Biswas, as well as Minarul Islam and Ismail Hossain—presidents of the Chhatra Shibir’s Jashore District East and West branches, respectively. The meeting was moderated by Khalid bin Khalil, Secretary of the Chhatra Shibir’s Jashore city branch.
