Landowners of Panchagarh, Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts happy with the joining of Zonal Settlement Officer

Panchagarh Thakurgaon Dinajpur Three District Coordination Zonal Settlement Office Dinajpur has been hampered in the absence of a Zonal Settlement Officer for several months. On August 2, Zonal Settlement Officer Dinajpur Mohammad Shajahan Ali joined. Landowners are happy with the joining of Zonal Settlement Officer Shajahan Ali. The hearing under Section 42(a) was closed for several months, due to which cases have been filed in various courts regarding land acquisition.
If the hearing under Section 42(a) is held, the real landowners will get back the ownership of the land acquisition. Simultaneous survey activities are underway in 5 upazilas of Panchagarh district, 7 upazilas of Thakurgaon district and 13 upazilas of Dinajpur district. There are 3109 mouzas under the Dinajpur Zonal Settlement Office. For the past few months, Ms. Rehenuma Tarannum, Charge Officer, has been performing additional duties of the Dinajpur Zonal Settlement Office.
Khondaker Md. Nurul Amin, Acting Chief Assistant, Md. Raihan Ali Nazir, Cum Cashier, Md. Nazmul Huda, Office Assistant, Cum Computer, Md. Mehedi Hasan, Acting Stenographer, Shahinur Reza, Record Keeper, Arman Ali Sarkar, Draftsman, Cum Area Estimator, Cum Seat Keeper. Assistant Settlement Officer of Boda Upazila of Panchagarh district of Dinajpur zone, Firoz Khan Noon, said that the speed of our work will increase with the addition of the Zonal Settlement Officer. The objection cases that have been stuck for several months due to lack of hearings under 42(a) will be fulfilled and the expectations of the landowners will be fulfilled.
Thakurgaon district landowner A. Rahman said that he had applied for 42(a) a few months ago but it was not heard and he is hoping that the new Zonal Settlement Officer will hear it soon. Ashraf Ali, a landowner from Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district, said that he is happy to join the Zonal Settlement and now the hearing will be held soon. Md. Saidur Rahman, a representative of the Debiganj Upazila Assistant Settlement Office, said that the Zonal Settlement Officer has joined and our official work will be speeded up.
