As an exceptional event to develop the scientific mind, creativity and innovative thinking of the students, International Peace School and College, Jashore, organized a colorful science fair on Saturday (July 25) from 3 pm to night. A colorful science fair was held at the Jashore Municipal Community Center. Students from different classes impressed the guests, guardians and visitors with their invented science-based projects, technology-based models and research-based presentations.

The program was presided over by the chairman of the institution, GM Abu Faisal, and the chief guest was the chairman of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Jashore, Professor Farukhe Azam Muhammad Abdus Salam. The Secretary of the Education Board, Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, Deputy Secretary (Administration and Establishment) Sheikh Aminul Islam, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Saiful Islam and Upazila Primary Education Officer Md. Kamal Ahmed.

The welcome speech was delivered by the Principal of the institution Md. Sarafat Hossain. The chief guest said that in order to move forward in line with the current world, students need to be made skilled in science and technology-based education. The way International Peace School and College has created opportunities to develop students’ creativity, inquisitive attitude and innovative power through the science fair is truly commendable. Such initiatives will play an important role in creating future scientists, researchers and skilled human resources.

Special guest Dr. Md. Abdul Matin said that science-based education should not be limited to textbooks; students should be given opportunities to acquire practical knowledge through hands-on education, research and innovative activities. He said that International Peace School and College has set an exemplary example by conducting modern and creative education programs in addition to improving the quality of education.

Sheikh Naeem Hassan Moon, founder of Research and Advancement for Innovation (RAIN), said that such events increase the confidence of children and make them interested in science. He called for holding such events regularly. Another guardian, Umme Salma, said that such science fairs are very effective in developing not only the results of the exams, but also the talent, creativity and innovative abilities of the students. He sincerely thanked the institution authorities for the exceptional initiative.

In his speech as the president, GM Abu Faisal said that the goal of the institution is to develop students in modern, moral and science-based education. In the future, more contemporary and exceptional programs will be taken to develop the creative talents of the students. At the beginning of the program, the guests visited various stalls and highly appreciated the projects invented by the students.

Later, certificates and prizes were given to encourage the participating students. The science fair was open to visitors throughout the day and created a lively atmosphere with the presence of a large number of parents, teachers, students, and well-wishers.
