Handover of recovered mobiles by APBN to rightful owners

12 Armed Police Battalion (APBN) has so far recovered 316 mobile phones of different brands and handed them over to their rightful owners by carrying out a special operation to recover lost mobile phones. A press release issued by 12APBN informed that the cyber team of 12APBN is working by collecting the information of GD filed in different police stations of Bangladesh Police to recover the lost mobile phone. Apart from this, through relatives, friends and acquaintances, by collecting GDs of lost mobile phones from different police stations of the country, the recovery of the phones is being conducted with the help of information technology.
The press release also said that in the last 22 months, about 14 thousand 22 GDs were investigated and 316 mobile phones of different brands were recovered and delivered to the real owners. 12 APBNs have been conducting this program for the past 21 months. Out of this, a maximum of 103 lost mobile phones were recovered in the month of August. If the mobile phone is lost, it is advised to report it to the concerned police station immediately. GD asks to mention the IMEI number of the mobile phone.
It is also recommended to save the 15-digit IMEI number on the packaging or box of the mobile phone. 12 Copy of GD of lost mobile phone can be sent to APBN WhatsApp number 01320-194018 or 01320-194003. Besides, the press release informed that the cyber team will take necessary measures if the copy of GD is sent to the inbox of 12 APBN’s Facebook page.
