State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque stated that the government is working to build an integrated sports framework spanning from the grassroots to the national level. As part of this initiative, steps will be taken to develop necessary sports infrastructure—including the playing field and dressing rooms—alongside the Sreemangal Cricket Academy. Md. Aminul Haque said that opportunities will be created to regularly host various sports with high potential—such as football, cricket, swimming, volleyball, table tennis, chess, archery, shooting, and hockey—at district stadiums.

To this end, a project has been undertaken to modernize district stadiums across the country, and necessary activities, including the formulation of the Development Project Proforma (DPP), are currently underway. There are plans to make these stadiums self-sufficient by ensuring essential facilities such as galleries, dressing rooms, and press boxes. He mentioned that initiatives have been taken to construct playgrounds down to the Union level to expand sporting opportunities. Simultaneously, there are plans to build futsal courts or smaller playing fields at the urban ward level. These initiatives will play a vital role in keeping the younger generation away from drugs and harmful activities while fostering their healthy development.

He also informed that steps have been taken to include sports-related textbooks in the curriculum starting from the fourth grade. Regarding the recovery of the Railway Ground in Sreemangal from encroachment, the State Minister stated that instructions have been issued to the district and upazila administrations to reclaim illegally occupied playgrounds and make them suitable for sports. He further added that the government does not wish to limit itself merely to participation but aims to contend for medals in sports with high potential to achieve success at the international level. To achieve this, year-round training programs and initiatives to groom talented athletes have been launched.

Long-term preparations are underway to establish a competitive standing in international events—such as the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games—over the next five years. Additional District Magistrate Md. Mamunur Rashid, Sreemangal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Ziaur Rahman, Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Wahiduzzaman Raju, and BCB Director Sarfaraz Ahmed Sarfu, along with sports organizers and political leaders, were present on the occasion. Later, the State Minister inspected the proposed site for the construction of a mini-stadium in Sreemangal Upazila.
