In this camp organized on Saturday, July 18 morning at Namo Shankarbati Degree College premises in Chapainawabganj, more than a hundred patients from different areas of the district were provided with eye examination, necessary advice and medicines by specialist doctors. Eligible patients suffering from cataract were selected for free surgery.

The chief guest of the program was Maruf Afzal Rajan, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer. The special guests were Professor of Agronomy and Agricultural Extension Department of Rajshahi University Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman and Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department Md. Mashiur Rahman. The program was presided over by Senior Director of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK), Bogura Dr. Md. Mahbub Alam.

The speakers said that if eye diseases are identified and treated on time, the risk of blindness can be reduced to a great extent. They expressed hope that such free medical camps would be very beneficial for the common people and that such humanitarian activities would continue in the future.
