Free eye camp held in Sreemangal

Like every year, a free eye camp was held in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, under the overall management and financing of UK expatriate Bulbul Ahmed. On Wednesday (July 1), the eye camp was inaugurated by former chairman of Bhunbir Union Dr. Abul Bashar at 8 am at Satgaon Samadia Alim Madrasa in Sreemangal Upazila, courtesy of expatriates Borhan Ahmed and Raihan Ahmed.
The principal of Satgaon Samadia Alim Madrasa, Maulana Molla Shahid Ahmed, was present as the chief guest, and the eye camp president Md. Yusuf Ali Sardar, Mahmud Mia, Abdur Rahman, Satgaon Bazar Committee Secretary Md. Alamgir Hossain, Md. Akbar Ali, Imam of Satgaon Samadia Alim Madrasa Jame Mosque Maulana Syed Intesar Ahmed, Md. Moyna Mia. In addition, local dignitaries were present at the time.
In this day-long eye camp, patients received primary treatment and surgery. Patients were admitted to Moulvibazar Eye Hospital for surgery in the afternoon. Dr. Jisan Ahmed, Dr. Abdul Mannan, Dr. Abdul Baten and the assistant physician team of BNSB Eye Hospital provided medical services at the eye camp.
Locals said that hundreds of people from local poor and extremely poor families are getting their lost eyesight back every year through the free eye camp managed and financed by Bulbul Ahmed, an expatriate from the UK. BNSB Eye Hospital in Moulvibazar is providing the overall treatment for this event.
