An activist rally organized by the Upazila and Municipal branches of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Mohila Dal (BNP’s women’s wing) was held for the first time in Durgapur, Netrokona. This event, organized by female leaders and activists after a long hiatus, has generated a wave of enthusiasm among party members. The party office buzzed with the lively presence of female leaders and activists centering around the rally.

The rally took place on Sunday (September 6) at 11:00 AM at the Durgapur Upazila BNP party office. Hafiza Akter, General Secretary of the Netrokona District Mohila Dal, attended the rally as the chief guest. Shahnaz Akter, General Secretary of the Netrokona Sadar Upazila Mohila Dal, was present as a special guest. Additionally, other Mohila Dal leaders and activists-including Najma, China, Asha, Nurjahan, and Arifa-were in attendance.

Leaders from the Kalmakanda Upazila BNP and Mohila Dal also participated in the rally. Among them were Upazila BNP Vice-President Koli Akter, Mohila Dal Convener Rekha Akter, General Secretary Rahela Akter, and Joint Conveners Karuna Pathan and Selina Akter. Furthermore, leaders and activists from the BNP and its affiliated organizations were present, including Durgapur Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Alhaj Jamal Uddin Master, Municipal BNP President Ataur Rahman Farid, and General Secretary Harez Gani.

Speaking as the chief guest, Hafiza Akter stated that women must be given the opportunity to come to the forefront of politics through their work. She emphasized the importance of advancing female leaders based on their competence, organizational skills, and active roles within the party. She noted that the organizational skills and activity levels of female leaders would be assessed through the formation of a convener committee. Subsequently, committees would be formed in phases at the union and ward levels.

Those who perform well, remain organizationally active, and contribute significantly to the party will gradually be brought forward into leadership roles. She also urged the female leaders and activists to always keep the motto “Bangladesh First” in mind. The Durgapur Upazila BNP party office became vibrant with the spirited participation of female leaders and activists at this long-awaited rally. Their vocal presence and slogans created a festive atmosphere at the rally venue.

Organizers stated that this workers’ rally-held for the first time in Durgapur-has generated renewed enthusiasm among female activists. Similar workers’ rallies will subsequently be organized in every union of the upazila.
