DNCC conducts drive to clear encroached footpaths in Mirpur with Ansar Battalion’s assistance

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) conducted an eviction operation on Wednesday, September 16, on the roads and footpaths from Mirpur-1 Shahali Market to Mirpur-2 Sony Square. DNCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelli led this mobile court operation which started from approximately nine in the morning on Wednesday (September 16). During the operation, all kinds of illegal structures, shops and hawkers built on both sides of the road and footpath were removed.
At the same time, the advertising billboards and unipole signs hung without any kind of approval have also been removed. DNCC authorities have seized a large amount of goods of the evicted shops. To keep the law and order situation under control, 30 members of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar Talion (41BN) of various ranks were deployed in the field under the orders of the West Zone Commander of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar. In the presence of Police Station Ansar-VDP Officer (Mirpur) Ansar Battalion members as well as Dhaka Metropolitan Police also participated in this operation.
The one-and-a-half-hour operation ended without any untoward incident. Bangladesh Ansar and Ansar Battalion members of Village Defense Force are ready to work with full dedication and professionalism in any initiative of the government to prevent public suffering and public safety and welfare. As a result of this operation, the footpaths which have been causing suffering to common pedestrians for a long time have been largely freed from encroachment.
