Cox’s Bazar local development and voluntary organization ‘HEART Rural Development Society’ (HEART) has received a registration certificate as a society from the Directorate of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The organization has been granted this registration under Section 21 of the Societies Act-1860. The certificate signed by RJSC Chittagong Region Assistant Registrar Md. Rakibul Islam has been given registration number CHS-779/2026.
The organization said that as a result of this online verifiable registration, an opportunity has been created to officially expand human service and developmental activities across the country. ‘HEART Rural Development Society’ was established in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic at the initiative of youth and young entrepreneur Zubair Mahmud Jubo. Although the organization initially focused on healthcare, it is currently working on child protection, education, social development, women’s empowerment, youth entrepreneurship, technical and vocational training, climate change and environmental protection, anti-drug awareness, mental health, human rights and democracy.
In addition, the organization is also conducting various activities to provide emergency and humanitarian assistance to displaced Rohingyas and deal with disasters. The organization said that 17 projects have been successfully implemented since its establishment. Currently, three more projects are underway at the field level. Founder and Executive Director of the organization, Zubair Mahmud Jubo, said that they have been conducting field activities by securing funding by submitting project proposals to domestic government departments, local and international humanitarian organizations, and bilateral and charitable foreign development partners.
Chairperson of the organization, Faiz Ullah Al Fahim, said that with the combined efforts of the experienced and skilled members of the board of directors, they have been able to achieve recognition from two major government departments within five years of their establishment. He mentioned this as one of the milestones in the organization’s work. Regarding the RJSC registration, Board of Directors member Hakimunnesa Bappi said that this recognition was achieved by receiving positive reports after inquiries and investigations by various government and law enforcement agencies.
He said that this recognition has further increased their interest in public service and created a new sense of responsibility. Director Moin Uddin Rakib said that they have connections with more than 150 networks and alliances at the local, national and international levels, including the United Nations recognition. They aim to build ‘HART’ as a world-class humanitarian organization by utilizing these global networks. Board member Samjida Begum said that after the registration of RJSC by the Department of Youth Development, the path to registration with the NGO Affairs Bureau has become easier. Their goal is to build ‘HART’ as a full-fledged and leading NGO in the long term.
Jubair Mahmud Jubo said that in the last five years, the organization has brought about 50,000 people indirectly and 5,000 people directly under the umbrella of humanitarian assistance. Currently, their activities are underway in seven upazilas of Cox’s Bazar. He also said that after the new registration, plans have been made to expand their activities to remote areas of the country, including the remaining two upazilas of Cox’s Bazar.
He said that the main spirit of ‘HART’ is to develop the inner talent of people by capturing their feelings. They want to triple the positive impact of their activities in the next five years and work as a trusted partner of the government in implementing the 2030 development goals.
