Coordination Meeting Held with Stakeholders on Village Court Activities in Chapainawabganj

A coordination meeting with local stakeholders was held in Chapainawabganj to discuss publicity and awareness-building activities regarding the Village Court system. The meeting was held on Tuesday at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Chapainawabganj.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director of Local Government Ujjal Kumar Ghosh. Among those present were Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development Md. Swapan Kumar Karmakar, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services Siddika Soheli Rashid, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Shahida Begum, heads of various government departments in the district, representatives of different non-governmental development organizations, print and electronic media representatives and officials from various levels of the district administration.
Shafiqul Islam, District Coordinator of the project, presented an update on the progress of the Village Court activities in Chapainawabganj. The meeting discussed in detail strategies for raising awareness among people at the grassroots level about the Village Court system through Union Parishads, in light of the Village Court Act 2006 and its amended versions of 2013 and 2024.
Participants also shared their respective views on how broad awareness of the Village Court system could be created among participants and beneficiaries while implementing various programs undertaken by their organizations.
