A press briefing was held at the EPI Building on Monday at 6 PM, organized by the District Civil Surgeon’s Office, to address the flood situation resulting from heavy and continuous rainfall across the country.

Presided over by District Civil Surgeon Dr. Golam Moula and moderated by Dr. Debashish Saha, the event was attended by guests including Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Afrin Sultana and District Press Club General Secretary M. Kibria Chowdhury Helim. Dr. Golam Moula noted that floods often lead to various health issues, such as diarrhea, dysentery, allergies, and an increased risk of snake encounters. Discussions aimed at raising advance awareness regarding these conditions were held, and relevant information was presented.

He stated that there are 37,000 packets of oral rehydration salts (ORS), water purification tablets, 258 doses of snake antivenom, and vaccines for dog bites available. Additional medicines and vaccines will be procured if necessary to handle any situation, and doctors and health workers are also prepared. Journalists from various print and electronic media outlets in the district were present on the occasion.
