Canal excavation work inaugurated in Amtali

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken up the canal excavation work program with the aim of providing employment to the extremely poor. On Saturday, Barguna-1 constituency MP Maulana Md. Mahmudul Hossain Oli Ullah inaugurated the program to dig two canals of this project in Amtali Upazila.
It is reported that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has taken the initiative to dig two canals in Amtali Upazila with the aim of providing employment to the extremely poor.
On April 8, the Disaster Management Department allocated 77 lakh 28 thousand 842 taka for digging 3 kilometers of the West Kewabunia Canal in Kukua Union and 51 lakh 53 thousand 995 taka for digging 2 kilometers of the Pashurbunia Canal in Haldia Union. 397 extremely poor beneficiaries will do this work in digging these canals.
The concerned Union Development Implementation Committee will assist in digging the canal. On Saturday, Barguna-1 constituency MP Maulana Md. Mahmudul Hossain Oli Ullah inaugurated the digging of the canal.
Present at the event were Amtoli Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Zafar Arif Chowdhury, OC Abu Shahadat Md. Hasnain Parvez, Project Implementation Officer Md. Masum, Kukua Union Parishad Chairman Md. Borhan Uddin Masum Talukder, former Upazila BNP president Md. Jalal Uddin Fakir, member secretary Tuhin Mridha, Islami Andolan Bangladesh Amtali branch president Maulana Omar Faruk Jehadi, and municipal BNP convener Md. Kabir Fakir.
Barguna-1 MP Maulana Md. Mahmudul Hossain Oli Ullah said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has undertaken a canal digging project to provide employment to the extremely poor.
If this project is implemented, thousands of farmers from the two unions will benefit. He also said that the Prime Minister is working for the development of the marginalized community.
