Broker arrested in Faridpur election office operation by Ansar-VDP

A suspected broker has been arrested by a member of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force on duty at Faridpur Sadar Upazila Election Office. Later, he was handed over to Faridpur Sadar Kotwali Police Station for necessary legal action. The incident took place at around 2 pm on Tuesday (August 4) in the premises of the Upazila Election Office. According to the concerned sources, Ansar-VDP ward number 22 party leader Md. Ariful Islam, who was on duty at the election office, saw a person moving suspiciously in the office premises.
Noticing inconsistencies in his movements and behavior, he started careful surveillance. At one stage, when the person tried to move away, he chased him and arrested him. The name of the arrested person is Md. Farid Molla (42). He is a resident of Tambulkhana village in Koijuri union of Faridpur Sadar upazila. After the incident, the matter was immediately informed to the responsible officials of the election office. Later, on their instructions, the detained person was handed over to the Faridpur Sadar Kotwali police station for taking necessary legal action.
The election office officials said that the Ansar members responsible for preventing harassment of people coming to receive government services, preventing the mischief of brokers and maintaining a disciplined environment in the office are always on alert.
The professionalism, vigilance and immediate action of the Ansar member responsible for this incident is being considered another example of the effective role of the force in ensuring the security of government institutions and the transparency of public services.
