The oath-taking and inauguration ceremony of the newly elected board of directors of the Bogura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one of the leading trade organizations of North Bengal, for the biennial election-2026, was held in a festive atmosphere on Saturday (August 8). The event, organized at the convention hall of the city’s Momin Hotel and Resort, brought together local businessmen and businessmen. The event was presided over by Bogura Chamber of Commerce and Industry President M.S.M. Atiqur Rahman Badal and was attended by Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, MP, Minister for Commerce, Industry and Textiles and Jute Ministry, as the chief guest.
In his speech as the chief guest, the Commerce Minister said, “Bogura is a very important district in the economic and commercial sector not only of North Bengal but also of the entire country. The new leadership of the businessmen will accelerate the pace of industrial expansion and trade in this region. The government will provide all-round cooperation in entrepreneurship development, employment generation and solving the existing problems of local business and trade.”
In his speech as the special guest, Mir Shahe Alam, MP, State Minister for the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives said, “The main foundation of industry and trade is sustainable infrastructure. The Ministry of Local Government will take coordinated steps to develop Bogra as a modern industrial city.”
Also present as special guests at the event were Bogura-6 MP Md. Rezaul Karim Badsha, Bogura-5 MP Golam Mohammad Siraj, Bogura-4 MP Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Member of Parliament from Bogura-1 constituency Kazi Rafiqul Islam, Member of Parliament from Bogura-7 constituency Morshed Milton, Member of Parliament from Bogura-3 constituency Md. Abdul Majid Talukder and Member of Parliament from Joypurhat-Bogura region reserved for women Suraiya Zebin Rony.
Also speaking were Bogura City Corporation Administrator M. R. Islam Swadhin, District Council Administrator A. K. M. Ahsanul Tayyab Zakir, Bogura Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Md.
