To bring the craze of World Cup football to people from all walks of life and to inspire underprivileged children and adolescents with joy, confidence and positive social values, one of the attractions of the ‘Football Festival 2026’, ‘Street Goal Challenge’, has been organized by Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force in Kalshi Slum in the capital. By participating in this exceptional initiative organized in the festive atmosphere of the World Cup, children and adolescents of Kalshi Slum gained inspiration to dream new dreams along with the joy of sports.

A large number of children and adolescents of Kalshi Slum participated spontaneously in the competition held in the open field. Let every successful goal become a symbol of joy, confidence and potential for them. The main theme of this event was the message of developing discipline, team spirit and positive social values through sports. Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Director (DMA) Md. Asaduzzaman Gani said, “Our goal is to bring the universal joy and excitement of the World Cup football to people from all walks of life.

Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force have organized this ‘Street Goal Challenge’ with the idea that especially underprivileged children and adolescents can also join the joy of this global festival.” At the end of the competition, prizes were distributed among the winners in four categories. 5 people in the first category were given school bags, 8 people in the second category were given umbrellas, 8 people in the third category were given water bottles, and 9 people in the fourth category were given pencil boxes.

In addition, pens were given as consolation prizes to encourage the participating children and adolescents who could not score the set goal. With the lively participation of children and teenagers, the spontaneous presence of parents and the enthusiasm of the audience, Kalshi Basti turned into a lively football festival. The program was broadcast live on the Facebook page of ‘Prantik Kanthaswar’ and YouTube.

Such initiatives by Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force prove that sports are not just a means of entertainment; they are an effective means of increasing the self-confidence of children and teenagers, strengthening social harmony, developing a positive sense of life and involving the underprivileged population in mainstream festivals and social activities.
