Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) has mobilized in Adamdighi, Bogura, to combat the spread of dengue.

Amid the rising incidence of dengue across the country, a special cleanliness and mosquito eradication drive was conducted throughout the upazila on September 17 (Thursday) under the directives of the Bogura District Commandant.

Primary  objectives of this program were to raise public awareness and destroy the breeding grounds of *Aedes* mosquitoes.
Led by Upazila Ansar-VDP Officer Farzana Kader Sumi, the operation involved Platoon Commanders (PC), Assistant Platoon Commanders (APC), and regular Ansar members. They cleared accumulated waste from drains, canals, and ditches surrounding the Adamdighi railway station, bus stand, and various educational institutions. Additionally, insecticides were sprayed using fogging machines to curb mosquito breeding.

Simultaneously, awareness leaflets containing guidelines on dengue prevention were distributed among pedestrians and students.
Local residents were urged to remain vigilant and ensure that water does not stagnate in their homes, workplaces, or courtyards. Particular emphasis was placed on keeping items such as tires, coconut shells, and flower pots clean and free of standing water.
Local residents have lauded this timely and effective initiative by the Ansar-VDP.
Locals believe that this direct participation by the force’s members will play a highly productive role in curbing mosquito breeding and controlling dengue transmission in rural areas.
