Ansar raid arrests broker at National Orthopedic Hospital

A person was arrested on charges of brokering at the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute (Nitor) in the capital on the initiative of Ansar members affiliated with Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force. He was later handed over to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station for legal action.

On Thursday, at approximately 6:30 am, a person was trying to get a patient into an ambulance in front of the emergency department of the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station under the jurisdiction of Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar (DMA) West Zone by offering various temptations to take him to a private clinic outside the hospital.

When the matter came to the attention of Platoon Commander (PC) Md. Abu Said, he immediately caught the person red-handed. Later, Ansar member Md. With the help of Obaidul, the detained person was handed over to the hospital authorities. The name of the detained person is Zakir Hossain (45). On the instructions of the hospital authorities, he was later handed over to the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station for necessary legal action.

In addition to ensuring the safety of patients, doctors and health workers in government hospitals, members of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force have been performing their duties round the clock with utmost vigilance, professionalism and responsibility to prevent brokering, theft, robbery and other criminal activities.
