Alleged attack while viewing pledged land, 2 injured

An alleged attack has been made while viewing a pledged land in Barail village of Salimganj union of Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria. Two people were injured in the incident. A case has been filed with Nabinagar police station regarding the attack. The attack took place on Sunday (July 26) near Banikpara graveyard in Barail village of the upazila. The same night, injured Jahangir Alam (father Shahjahan Mia), village- Barail, union- Salimganj, filed a case with Nabinagar police station, making three accused in the complaint as the plaintiff.
According to the complaint, Jahangir Alam had been in a long-standing dispute with Mahbub Alam Sohag of the same village over land-related issues. In continuation of this, on July 26, Jahangir Alam and his brother Md. Nasir Uddin went to see the pledged land located next to the Banikpara graveyard. The complaint states that at that time, Mahbub Alam Sohag (father deceased Abu Isak), Mohammad Ali (father deceased Mana Mia) and Md. Mainuddin (father deceased Abul Kashem) carried out a pre-planned ambush with country-made weapons. Md. Nasir Uddin suffered serious injuries to his thumb in the attack.
In addition, Jahangir Alam suffered injuries and bloody open wounds in various parts of his body. Later, locals rescued the injured and admitted them to the Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex. Jahangir Alam, who was injured in the incident, has filed a case against the three accused at the Nabinagar Police Station. In this regard, Inspector (Investigation) of Nabinagar Police Station Rajiv Kanti Nath confirmed the matter of the case and said, “The case has been registered.
There was a warrant in Sohag’s name, he was arrested from the scene of the incident and sent to the court. The police operation is continuing to arrest the other two accused.” It is to be noted that local sources claim that the main accused in this case, Mahbub Alam Sohag, was earlier arrested in a fraud case and served time in prison.
