A young man drowned while fishing in the river Khoai near Ghargao village of Sadar Union of Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj. This incident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Deceased Shaheen (35) son of deceased Rahmat Ali of Tekerghat area of Gazipur Union. On receiving the information, Chunarughat police recovered the body.

Local residents said that 3 youths along with the deceased Shaheen and his friend Bilal went fishing in Ghargao Khoai river of Sadar Union as usual on Tuesday morning for livelihood. At one point, Shaheen Mia went down into the water to free herself when her hand got stuck in a rock hole in the area surrounded by rocks. Later, when he fell down, his two friends and the surrounding people recovered his body after searching. Chunarughat Police Inspector (Investigation) Golam Mostafa confirmed this information and said that a case of wrongful death has been registered in the police station.
