3 killed including brother and sister in passenger bus in Comilla

3 passengers of a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw were killed after being hit by a passenger bus in Comilla. Two of the dead are brothers and sisters. In this accident, 4 other people including autorickshaw driver were injured.

The accident took place at Kabichandradi area of Daudkandi upazila on Dhaka-Chandpur regional road on Friday around 1 pm.

The deceased are Al Amin (36) of Kawadi village of Daudkandi upazila, his elder sister Saleha Begum (46) wife of deceased Anu Mia of Bhabanipur village of the same upazila and Rohana Akhter (32) of Afarkanda village of Chandpur. The injured in this accident are, autorickshaw driver Shanto Mia of Tinpara village of Daudkandi, Nazmul Hasan, resident of Afarkanda village, his wife Reena Akhtar, child Nusrat and Roksana Akhtar of the same village.

According to the police and local sources, a bus named Jainpuri Paribahan was going towards Dhaka from Rahimanagar of Kachua Upazila of Chandpur. After reaching Kabichandradi area of Daudkandi, the bus rammed a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. After rescuing the injured in this incident and taking them to Gouripur Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared three people dead including their brothers and sisters. In the accident, 4 people, including the autorickshaw driver, were admitted to the hospital.

Relatives of the deceased said that Al Amin had taken his sister to see a doctor in Dhaka. After coming to Gouripur by bus from Dhaka in the afternoon, they were returning home in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw.

Daudkandi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan said, the bus has been impounded. But the bus driver and helper escaped. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their relatives.
