Trafficking of cows, yaba & weapons in Ramu and Naikhongchari is now open secret

Ramu of Cox’s Bazar district and Naikhongchari upazila of Parbatya Bandarban district are busy with Burmese cattle smuggling. Under the guise of Myanmar cattle smuggling, smuggling of Yaba, sophisticated arms and ammunition is now an open secret through Kachpia, Gorznia and Eidgarh Union points of Ramu Upazila. In addition to the jungle hilly road, the smugglers are now smuggling yaba and sophisticated arms and ammunition along with cattle smuggling day and night on the Eidgarh-Idgaon road with CNG, trucks and drummers. In the same way, smuggling of stolen Burmese cows by creating fake receipts has fallen in Kachchpia, Garznia and Dochhari Union of nearby Naikhongchari. There is a smuggling syndicate in Dochhari and Naikhongchari sadar union of Naikhongchari upazila. Similarly, different syndicates are carrying out cow smuggling in Kachapia Union of Ramu Upazila. Sources say that consignments of Yaba and heavy firearms along with Burmese stolen cattle are also coming to Dedarse from the other side. Investigation revealed that 11 BGBs are active in the field to prevent smuggling of Burmese cows. Huge amount of revenue is being deposited in the national exchequer due to BGB operations. Reliable sources also say that although BGB is active in the field to prevent smuggling, other departments of the administration including the police are keeping a mysterious silence. Field-level police administration, local government institutions Union Parishad and Gorznia market lessee Burmese stealers are turning into banana trees overnight by collecting extortion from every cow. On the other hand, the eastern areas of Ramu and the Dochhari, Baishari and Naikxyangchari Sadar Unions of Ramu have turned into smuggling havens. Gorznia Bazaar is an outsider and the ruling daputies have turned the villages around Gorznia Bazaar into a smuggling market by extorting huge sums of money in collusion with local smuggling syndicates. The complainants are Eidgarh Union Ward No. 3 local A-League leader Moktar Ahmed, Khandkar Para A-League leader and former member Gias Uddin of the same ward, Maizpara village A-League leader Jagher Ahmed, Charpara village local Jubo League leader Chayed Hochan, Mohammad Sharifpara Tayyub Ullah. , Bedar Mia of Maijpara village, Abul Kalam of Ghuinyapara and Taiyab Ullah of Purbarajghata village. On Saturday (April 29) ASP (Sadar Circle) appeared in person at the Eidgarh Union Ward No. 3 Badramokam local league leader Moktar Ahmed, Khandkar Para local league leader of the same ward and a total of 5 people gave evidence including Giyas Uddan. The local people have demanded strong legal action against the identified smugglers to stop the smuggling of cows, yaba and weapons in Myanmar.
