He had a dream to go to Italy, a European country. Zakir Hossain, a young man from Togbog, aimed to make his family happy by establishing himself. But it didn’t happen anymore. A bus-motorcycle collision on the highway extinguished the dream. Crossed over.

Locals said that on Saturday (May 20), a motorcyclist on his way to Mirpur in Habiganj collided with a Srimangal-bound Habiganj non-stop bus at Rashidpur Gasfield area on the Habiganj-Srimangal highway at around 2.30 pm. With the help of passers-by, Zakir Hussain (23) was rescued and taken to the 50-bed Srimangal Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The deceased Md. Zakir Hossain is the son of Md. Abdul Mushabbir of Hajipur area of Kalapur Union of Srimangal Upazila. Deceased Zakir was a former footballer of Moulvibazar District U-15 and Sylhet Divisional U-15 football teams and a former footballer of Bhairabganj Bazar Football Academy.

According to local sources, Zakir Hossain was scheduled to go to Italy next month. Attempts to contact the victim’s family were unsuccessful. His family is shocked to lose Zakir.

In this regard, the doctor in charge of Upazila Health Complex said that he was brought to the health complex in critical condition. He died of excessive bleeding due to severe injuries.

When asked about this, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satgaon Highway Police Station, Srimangal Rakib Bin Islam said that the motorcycle was recovered and the family of the deceased came and took away his motorcycle and body.

When asked if there will be an autopsy, he said that the family of the deceased has applied for burial without an autopsy. So the body has been handed over to the family for burial.
