Five foxes died after being cut by a paddy cutting machine in Madhavpur, Habiganj. Tofail Ahmed Chowdhury, official of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Department, Habiganj, gave this information on Thursday afternoon.

Before this, these foxes died in Haor of Satpara village of Madhavpur upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

Locals said that 10 foxes were hiding inside the paddy fields. If the paddy is cut all around, the foxes take up position in the middle of the field.

Later, when the machine went to the middle of the field, 5 foxes ran away. The remaining 5 died under the machine.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Environment Movement (Bapa) Habiganj Tofazzal Sohail said that the fox is now an endangered animal due to massive habitat destruction. The foxes were hiding in the paddy fields. It should be investigated whether the animals have been killed intentionally or not.
