Abdur Rashid Sarkar (75) died due to old age in Sadullapur Upazila of Gaibandha. His son Shahidul Islam (50) participated in this funeral. He fell to his death there. The incident took place in Purba Srirampur village of Naldanga union of the upazila.

Naldanga Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdur Gafur Mia confirmed this information.

According to relatives, Abdur Rashid Sarkar died at his home due to old age on Wednesday (May 3) morning. His son Shahidul Islam died of a heart attack while attending his father’s janaza around 9:15 pm.
UP Chairman Abdur Gafur Mia said that his son Shahidul Islam also died during the funeral of Rashid Sarkar. Shahidul Islam was buried next to his father’s grave on Thursday morning. The death of father and son on the same day cast a shadow of mourning in the area.
