Two children died after drowning in mud pit in Rajarhat Upazila of Kurigram. They are about two cousins. This accident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

Rajarhat police station officer-in-charge Abdullah Hill Zaman confirmed this information.

The names of the dead children are Mahadi (6) and Farabi (6).

The deceased are the sons of Sajidul Islam Saju and Sohag Mia of Momin (Alsia Para) village of Nazimkhan union of the upazila.

According to the police, a hole has been created by cutting soil from a land next to the house. In the rain, water accumulates in that hole. On Tuesday, Mahadi and Farabi drowned in the water of that hole while playing. The family members recovered their bodies from the pit after searching.
