Briefing workshop on progress and achievements of LGSP-3 project

Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): A briefing workshop was held on the progress and achievements of the Local Governance Support Project (LGSP-3) in Bandarban.
Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji was present as the chief guest at the workshop organized at Bandarban Deputy Commissioner conference room on Wednesday (September 7) morning.
At this time,Deputy Commissioner said, LGSP-3 is making a significant contribution in strengthening the overall activities of local government institutions,increasing institutional capacity and sustainability.
This project is making a special contribution to the empowerment of women and the enhancement of civic facilities and rural poverty alleviation.
Besides,LGSP-3 is also playing a special role in shaping all Union Parishads and Municipalities as effective local government institutions through decentralization of power.
During this time,The Deputy Commissioner gave various directions by highlighting his experience during his duty as Deputy Director of Local Government Department of Chittagong District.Besides,She called upon the collective efforts of all present to advance the activities of LGSP-3.
Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji called upon all the project stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication in the implementation of the project.
Deputy Director of Local Government Department Of Bandarban Md.Lutfur Rahman presided over the workshop organized by Bandarban district administration and held in collaboration with Payoct Bangladesh.Superintendent of Police Bandarban Md.Tariqul Islam,PPM was present as a special guest.
During the speech of the President,Deputy Director Md.Lutfur Rahman said that strict monitoring should be kept to make the development target that the country has achieved sustainable.
To continue this trend,The Prime Minister and his government are working towards the goal of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals announced by the United Nations by 2030.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Pal,Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sajia Afroz,Red Crescent Secretary Amal Kanti Dash, Press Club President Aminul Islam Baccu were also present.The program was conducted by Executive Magistrate ASM Shahnewaz Mehedi.
The workshop was attended by officials and representatives of various government offices, journalists,chairman of Union Parishad,representatives of NGOs, and people from different classes and professions.
Later,four groups named Padma,Meghna, Zamuna and Brahmaputra were created and the workshop was concluded by accepting and presenting recommendations for the implementation of LGSP-3 project separately on behalf of each group.
The purpose of the workshop was to increase public awareness about Local Governance Support Project-3,to encourage media workers to publicize and publicize the achievements and achievements of the project, to determine future actions to ensure transparency,accountability and equitable distribution of allocations in the activities of local government institutions, to ensure that the achievements of Local Governance Support Project-3 are sustainable And making recommendations on future institutionalization etc.
