In Chanpara of Rupganj, Narayanganj, there have been incidents of conflict over the expansion of dominance. It is said that three people were shot. The clash lasted from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.

Those shot are Sunny, Samrat Parvez and Roman. They are currently undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the hospital’s police outpost. He said that all three were shot in the legs.

According to local residents, Chanpara was controlled by Bajlu-Shahin group. Recently Shaheen was killed in RAB crossfire. Bajlu was arrested in the case of attack on RAB and went to jail. He died of a heart attack on March 31. As Bajlu members went to jail, Shahabuddin and Shamser’s forces tried to take control of Chanpara. The people of Zainal Army could not accept the matter. Recently several members of the Bajlu army joined Zainal. On Tuesday night, the forces of Shahabuddin and Shams united and attacked Zainal Abedin’s forces. The attack happened after Iftar. Joynal Group also responded. The conflict continued till midnight. Three people were shot in the attack. They are all associates of Joynal.

Zainal was arrested in June last year in a murder case. He was recently released on bail.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupganj police station called AFM Syed’s number several times to inquire about the clash, but he did not receive it. Sent messages but did not reply.

However, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Rupganj-Araihajar circle) Abir Hossain said, “Joynal was recently released on bail. Zainal group clashed with Shamser and Shahabuddin group for dominance. Some were injured on both sides. It is said that three people are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. But the situation is normal. Additional police have been deployed in the area. No case has been filed in this regard yet.
