9 people were killed in a collision between two buses in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur. Another 70 people were injured in this incident.

The accident took place near Kharubhaj Bridge in Taraganj on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway on Sunday (September 4) night. The injured were rescued and taken to Taraganj Upazila Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital.

According to the local police, a passenger bus of Islam Paribahan collided with a passenger bus near Shaleyshah Kharuvaj bridge on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway at around 12:30 pm. This resulted in casualties.

Fire service and locals started the rescue operation after receiving the news of the accident at night. According to sources, the work has been disrupted due to rain. The rescue operation ended after three in the night. Traffic is normal now.
