SM Abdullah Saud: 5 people including the CNG driver were killed on the spot when a truck collided with a CNG truck in Malipara area of Kshetlal-Battali Road of Kshetlal Municipality of Joypurhat. Another woman was injured in that incident. This fatal accident took place in Malipara area of the municipality yesterday. At that time, the killer truck was caught but the driver escaped. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kshetlal police station Rajibul Islam is confirming this matter. The deceased are CNG driver Amjad Hossain (50), CNG passenger Nafiz Hasan (22) of municipality, Jame Masjid Imam Sirajul Islam (60) of Nashirpur village, Shahnaz Parveen (46) and Shahinur Akhtar (50). Laila Nasreen Jahan, women affairs officer of Kshetlal upazila and resident of Rupnagar of Joypurhat Sadar upazila was injured. The CNG driver was coming from Joypurhat towards Kshetlal town with passengers. Officer-in-charge of Kshetlal police station Rajibul Islam said, “The body was recovered and sent to Joypurhat district hospital for post-mortem. The killer truck was seized and brought to the police station. However, the truck driver and helper could not be arrested. Efforts are on to arrest them.”]
