Md Mohiuddin, Sitakunda (Chittagong): Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP inaugurated the flower festival at Fouzdahat Link Road Marine Drive in Chittagong. He was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Some parts of Faujdarhat Link Road were occupied by illegal squatters for almost two centuries. On January 4, the district administration conducted an operation and cleared 194 acres of Khas land. The district administration has built a modern and beautiful park in the entire recovered area. This flower festival will continue for 9 days from 10th to 18th February. Flower seedlings have been collected from different parts of the country. About three lakh flower seedlings are planted here. Chittagong DC Abul Basar Md Fakhruzzaman presided over it. Deputy Education Minister Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury MP, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Aminur Rahman, Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Payrul Islam, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce President Mahbubul Alam, freedom fighter Mozaffar Ahmad spoke as special guests. Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hashan Mahmud MP said, “Awami League is the party of Rajpath. It is and will remain in Rajpath. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has planned many things about Chittagong. The future Chittagong city will be centered around this region. Bangabandhu tunnel is waiting for the inauguration. She has announced to make metrorail. Feasibility study work has started for it. Flyover has been done. More is going on. Beterminal construction work is going on. To make a city beautiful, one has to harmonize with nature. Along with coordination in all development works, public awareness has to be increased.”
