A businessman is missing in Phulchhari, ransom is demanded, Relatives are concerned
Ripon Mia, Phulchhari (Gaibandha): A paddy-rice trader named Solaiman Sarkar (54) of Phulchhari upazila of Gaibandha has been missing for 7 days. A week has passed but the law enforcement agencies have not found him and his relatives are worried. The house of the missing businessman is in Dakshin Burail village of Udakhali union of Phulchari upazila. He died in that village. Son of Munchur Ali. Meanwhile, the residents of the area held a human chain program in front of the Upazila Parishad on Phulchhari-Gaibandha road on Thursday (February 9) to find the missing Solaiman. Speakers in the human chain said that ransom is being demanded by several mobile phones to his family asking for the return of Solaiman. If the police are a little active, they can find him using the clues of these mobile phones. They urged the law enforcement agencies to find the missing Solaiman Sarkar as soon as possible. Udakhali UP chairman Al Amin, Kanchipara UP former chairman Liton Miah, Upazila Rice Mill Owner Association president Ataur Rahman Badal, Awami League leader Shahidul Islam, Phulchhari Upazila Press Club general secretary Shah Alam Jadu, brother of the missing Hoibur Rahman Habu spoke during the human chain, daughter Mahmuda Akhtar, Soma Akhtar etc. Later, a memorandum was presented to Phulchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Phulchhari Thana Officer-in-Charge on behalf of the local residents and the family of the missing Solaiman Sarkar. Relatives of the missing person said that Sulaiman Sarkar left for the mosque in the early hours of February 3 to perform the Fajr prayer. After that, he did not come back home even though it was late. At one point, the relatives talked to the mosque worshipers and found out that Sulaiman did not come to pray at Fajr. This increases anxiety among the people of the house. The search for potential locations begins. Not being able to find him, his younger brother Abdur Rauf Mia filed a general diary at the Phulchhari police station the next day on February 4. Abdur Rauf Mia, the younger brother of the missing person, said, “Even after a week, my brother is still missing. Therefore, I am requesting the assistance of the police and law enforcement agencies. In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Phulchhari Police Station Kawshar Ali said, “Soliman Sarkar’s relatives have made a GD regarding his disappearance. According to the sources of GD, photos of the missing persons have been sent to all the police stations. Search for him has been continued at various places. The CDRs of the mobiles from which the ransom has been demanded have been sought. If we get them, our work will be easier.
