Staff Reporter: A Class 12 student of Bharateshwari Homes in Mirzapur, Tangail has died mysteriously. It is said that the student named Mehzabin Sayma committed suicide by hanging herself. The incident was reported last Monday night. On receiving the information, the police recovered Sayma’s dead body from Kumudini Hospital and brought it to the police station. She is the daughter of Kiramat Ali Sikdar of Juganiya village, Naragati thana in Narail district. The police could not say anything about the reason why Sayma committed suicide.

Mirzapur police station OC Sheikh Abu Saleh Masud Karim said, “The incident took place around 1 pm and we came to know about it around 8 pm.”

The OC was asked why the dead body was taken from the hospital even though it was said to be a suicide by hanging. He said that he did not know about this and even did not ask to know about it from Bharateshwari Homes Authority. The body was recovered and sent to Tangail morgue for post-mortem on Tuesday.

Sayma’s father Kirmat Ali Sikader said, “His daughter Sayma’s mysterious death was due to mismanagement by the authorities.”

Bharateshwari Homes Vice Principal Apurba Saha has reportedly filed a case in this regard. Attempts to reach him over mobile phone could not be reached.
