Gangesh Devaray Smriti Parishad has given merit scholarships to poor and talented students in Shrimangal of Moulvibazar for the development of merit.
Eminent lawyer and cultural personality Tanzina Ferdous was present as the chief guest at Gopendraganj Government Primary School in Srimangal on Sunday (January 22) morning under the chairmanship of heroic freedom fighter Moazzem Hossain Chamru.

Women Vice Chairman of Srimangal Upazila Parishad Mithali Datta, Head Teacher of Gopendraganj S.Prabi Hasi Rani Pal, Dr. Gopal Sarkar and eminent businessman Saiful Islam Bulbul were present as special guests in the event.
This scholarship was given to American expatriate Ashish Debrai, son of the late Gangesh Debrai, the land donor of Gopendraganj Government Primary School, to improve the students’ talent and encourage them to study.
In the first phase of the program, 5 people were given a one-time grant. Later they will be paid school fees for one year.
