Stolen temple goods recovered in Baralekha, arrested 2

Police have arrested one person along with the stolen goods in the case of theft at Baralekha temple in Moulvibazar. Also, a drug dealer including ganja was arrested in the Kamalganj police operation of the district.
On Monday night, the police arrested a young man named Roni Mia with the help of locals in Gramtala area of Baralekha. Meanwhile, the police searched the residence of the arrested Roni Mia and recovered the stolen goods and lock breaking tools from the temple. According to police and local sources, the arrested Roni Mia was living in a rented house next to Gramtala Kali Mandir. His main house is in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district.

Baralekha police station officer-in-charge Yardous Hasan said that on the night of January 8, Sri Sri Kalibari temple in Gramtala village was broken and the temple’s goods were stolen. Since then, the police started working in the field to recover the belongings of the temple and arrest those involved in the incident. Later, with the help of locals, the goods were recovered and a person named Roni Mia was arrested. After filing a case at Baralekha police station on Tuesday morning in this incident, the arrested accused was sent to jail through Moulvibazar district learned court.

On the other hand, under the leadership of SI Harun Or Rashid Chowdhury of District Kamalganj police station, the police arrested Manulal Baidya (50) from Gullimara Tilki Tila of Alinagar Tea Garden of Upazila. Meanwhile, the police recovered 200 grams of gazan from the custody of the arrested. A case under the Narcotics Control Act was filed against the arrested person at the Kamalganj police station and sent to jail through the court on Tuesday morning.
