Police have arrested two professional Yaba traders in Tahirpur of Sunamganj. The arrested are Saiful Islam, son of Rafiqul Islam of Mollapara village of Badaghat union of the upazila, Abu Sufizan Roni, son of Surat Zaman of neighboring Kamraband village. They were arrested along with Yaba from Mollapara village of the upazila on Tuesday night.

Tahirpur police station OC Syed Iftekhar Hossain said on Wednesday afternoon that a police team led by SI Jahangir Hossain of police station’s Badaghat police investigation center raided the house of Yaba Karbari Saiful of Mollapara village on Tuesday night. Saiful and his accomplice Abu Sufian Roni were arrested during the Yaba buying and selling operation. At this time, 67 pieces of Yaba were seized from their custody. During the operation, their other accomplice Hasan son of deceased Qadir Mia of Mollapara village managed to escape. After that, on Tuesday night, two people were arrested at Tahirpur police station and a case was filed under the relevant section of Narcotics Control Act.

Incidentally, several drug cases against professional Yaba Karbari Saiful and a case of rape of a beggar widow are pending in the court.
