21 lawyers of Brahmanbaria have been summoned to the High Court

The High Court has summoned 21 lawyers including the editor of the District Lawyers Association on the charge of obstructing justice and shouting slogans in the name of Brahmanbaria District Judge Sharmin Nigar during the proceedings of the court. The High Court bench consisting of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Raziq Al Jalil gave this order along with the contempt of court ruling against the 21 concerned lawyers on Tuesday. 21 lawyers have been asked to appear in the High Court on January 23 and give an explanation.
21 lawyers are – Mofizur Rahman Babul, Minhajul Islam, Emdadul Haque Hadi, Nizamuddin Khan Rana, Anichur Rahman Manju, Md. Jummon Chowdhury, Rashed Mia Hazari, Jaher Ali, Md. A. Aziz Khan, Dewan Iftekhar Reza Russell, Md. Chadar Uddin, Mahmudur Rahman Roni, Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Md. Ariful Haque Masud, Mir Mohammad Raisul Ahmed, Mohibur Rahman, Md. Zakaria Ahmed, Md. Mubarak Ulla, Md. Farooq Ahmed Safiq Ahmed and Iqbal Hossain.
On January 5 and 8, some lawyers raised obscene and ugly slogans against District Judge Sharmin Nigar of Brahmanbaria. He sent a letter yesterday Monday to the Registrar General of the District Supreme Court seeking remedy stating that the proceedings have been disrupted. After that, on the instructions of the Chief Justice, the matter was sent to the High Court bench headed by Justice JBM Hasan for disposal. Following this, the High Court reviewed the complaint yesterday and ordered.
Earlier, on January 2, Judge-1 (District and Sessions Judge) of Brahmanbaria Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal-1 sent another letter to the Registrar General of the Supreme Court with the title ‘Requesting action for contempt of court for verbal abuse and indecent behavior of judges and staff in the courtroom’. The Registrar General presented this letter to the Chief Justice. Later, the Chief Justice directed the matter to be presented to a bench headed by Justice JBM Hasan for resolution. Accordingly the documents are presented to this bench. President Tanveer Bhuiyan, Secretary (Administration) issued the High Court rule on January 5. Akkas Ali and Zubair called to Islam. He has been asked to appear in the High Court on January 17 and give an explanation.
