Mobile court for the purpose of ensuring the use of jute wrapping in products
Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): The administration conducted mobile courts to ensure the use of jute sacks for storage and transportation of nineteen products including paddy,rice,wheat,corn, fertilizer, sugar.On Monday (December 19), the district administration conducted this operation in various rice shops in Bandarban town. Executive Magistrate Md.Sajjad Zahid Ratul and Executive Magistrate Rajib Kumar Biswas led the operation.
At that time,The mobile court awarded a fine of 9000 taka or imprisonment without labor to three rice shops for violating the mandatory use of jute wrapping in products Act,2010.The owners of the three establishments later admitted to breaking the law and paid fines.
On the same day,the Mobile Court fined two more establishments under Section 05 of the Smoking and Use of Tobacco Products (Control) Act 2005.Several institutions are also alerted.
Executive Magistrate Md.Sajjad Zahid Ratul said,The use of jute wrapping in the product is mandatory.The operation of the mobile court will continue against those who violate the law.Inspector of Jute Directorate Babul Chandra Das and members of the law and order force were present at the time.
Meanwhile,Rice millers say that they are using plastic bags as the supply of jute bags is low.If adequate availability of jute sacks is ensured,They themselves will ensure their proper use.In this regard,these local shopkeepers also requested the cooperation of the administration.
