Inauguration of National Science and Technology Week Held In Bandarban

Lutfur Rahman (Uzzal): The 44th National Science and Technology Week,Science Fair and National Science Olympiad were inaugurated by Sadar Upazila Parishad in Bandarban under the theme “Possibilities of Solar Power”.The fair was organized at Bandarban Sadar Upazila premises on Tuesday (December 6).

Upazila Parishad (Sadar) Chairman AKM Jahangir was present as the chief guest in the inauguration ceremony organized under the Presided By Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Shajia Afroz.Meanwhile,the guests visited the stalls of participating companies in the fair.The student’s scientific inventions impressed the guests of the event.

Also a discussion meeting was held on this occasion at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium.Speakers highlighted the importance of science in the discussion meeting.On this Occasion,Upazila Secondary Education officer and member secretary of fair organizing committee Md.Mustafiz Bhuiyan,Project implementation officer Md.Jahangir Alam,Programmer of information and technology department Surat Alam Akash, teachers,Students of various educational institutions and upazila officials and representatives of various departments were present.

Incidentally,The Ministry of Science and Technology is sponsoring the fair organized under the overall supervision of the National Science and Technology Museum.According to a reliable source of upazila administration,The students of 15 educational institutions of Bandarban Sadar upazila displayed their inventions in their respective stalls.

Prizes were also distributed among various educational institutions and students participating in the fair.Bandarban Collectorate School and College won the first position at the upazila level in the solar power potential competition.
