Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: The 31st International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the 24th National Day of Persons with Disabilities were celebrated in Chapainawabganj under the theme ‘Transformative Actions for Inclusive Development: Role of Innovation in Building an Accessible and Equity-Based World’. On this occasion, a discussion meeting and wheelchairs were distributed free of charge to disabled people was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Sunday.

Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Agriculturist Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam presided over the function.

Chapainawabganj Deputy Director Debendra Nath Uraon, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Md. Mohsin, Medical Officer of Civil Surgeon Office Dr. Rakibul Islam, Panel Mayor-3 of Chapainawabganj Municipality Nazneen Fatema Zinia participated in the discussion meeting. District Social Services Officer (Reg.) Md. Firoz Kabir presided over the meeting.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner distributed the wheel chairs among 7 physically challenged women and men including children.
