The members of the National Executive Committee of the State Reform Movement held a press conference to protest the attack on the solidarity rally at Srimangal Chaumuhani Chattar and demand the arrest of the attackers, expressing solidarity with the tea workers’ wage hike movement and demanding swift action by those concerned to protect the tea industry.

Pritam Das, executive member of the National Executive Committee of the State Reform Movement, read out a written statement at the press conference at the Srimangal Upazila Press Club on Monday afternoon. Riaz Khan and some other members of the organization were also present at this time.

Pritam Das said that when they were preparing for a peaceful solidarity rally at Srimangal Chaumuhani last Saturday, a group of 40/50 terrorists with latisotas ambushed them. Riaz Khan’s head was split open, Pritam Das and Javed Bhuiyan were seriously injured. Several others were also injured. The injured received treatment from Srimangal Upazila Health Complex. They held a press conference on Monday to seek justice in this matter.
