The agriculture secretary of the ministry visited the Aman field and cut the paddy

In Kalapara of Patuakhali, crop harvesting, farmer gathering and seed distribution were held on the topic of increasing crop intensity through cultivation of Ufsi early varieties during Aman season. Under the initiative of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute and Patuakhali Agricultural Extension Directorate, the assembly and seeds were distributed among the farmers at Pakhimara Government Primary School ground of Nilganj Union of Upazila on Friday at 11 am.

Under the chairmanship of Director General of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute Dr. Md. Shahjahan Ali, Agriculture Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture Md. Syeduzal Islam spoke as the chief guest. Additional Director of Agricultural Extension Directorate, Agronomist Md. Fazlul Haque, Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute Barisal Regional Office Alamgir Hossain, Dr. Bimal Chandra Kundu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Patuakhali Sheikh Abdullah Sadi, Deputy Director of Agricultural Extension Directorate of Patuakhali spoke as special guests. Md. Nazrul Islam, Upazila Executive Officer Shankar Chandra Baidya, Patuakhali BFDC Executive Engineer Md Mosharraf Hossain.
Besides, Nilganj Union Parishad Chairman Md. Babul Mia, Farmer GM Mahbubur Rahman, Manjurul Alam and others spoke.

At the end of the meeting, the chief guest distributed the seeds of improved varieties of rice and hand nets to kill insects in the fields among the farmers. Earlier, the chief guest, Agriculture Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, agriculturist Md. Syeduzal Islam visited and cut the ripe BR 11, BR 23, BR 51 and 26 paddy fields in the field. The chief guest told the reporters that the bumper crop of Aman has been produced in Kalapara due to the cultivation of this variety.
