Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: The court has ordered the death penalty to a man named Kubed Ali for killing his wife in Chapainawabganj. Along with that, a fine of Tk50 thousand was imposed.

Kubed Ali is the son of late Sultan Ali of Mushribhuja Mahalla of Madhyakharakpur area of Bholahat Upazila.

Judge Md. Rabiul Islam of the Additional District Sessions Judge Court gave the sentence in the presence of the accused on Monday (November 28) noon.

State counsel Additional PP Rabiul Islam said that on the afternoon of July 8, 2019, due to a family dispute, Kubed Ali slapped the throat of his wife Ayesha Begum. He was seriously injured and died on the way to Rajshahi Medical.

Kubed Ali, the only accused in the case, confessed his guilt before the judge in the court. After lengthy testimony, the verdict was delivered against the accused.
