A case has been filed under the Digital Security Act against 65 people, including Hafizul Islam, joint general secretary of the District Chhatra Dal, who were arrested in Habiganj town for tearing the festoons containing photos of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and posting them on Facebook.
Yesterday, August 28, Sunday afternoon, Mustafa Kamal, the organizing secretary of Awami League of Habiganj Municipality, son of the deceased Abul Kasem of Court Station Road area, filed the case as the plaintiff.
The main accused Hafiz along with accused No. 2 Shaheen Talukdar, district Chhatra Dal president Imadadul Haque Imran, general secretary Rubel Ahmed Chowdhury, organizing secretary Shah Rajeev Ahmed Ringon, district BNP leader Jalal Ahmed, Zahirul Haque Salim, Chhatra Dal leaders Zahirul Haque Sharif, Faisal Ahmed, Raihan Ahmed. , Youth Dal leader Murshed Alam Sajan, Oliur Mia, Chhatra Dal leader GK Jhalak, Golam Mahbub, Abdul Ahad Tushar, Syed Ashfaq Ahmed and 65 people from Ezaharnam. Another 50/60 unidentified people were accused.
According to the details of the case, President of Sainik League Habiganj SM Manik accused Tarek Rahman of being the main planner of the grenade attack on August 21 and set up festoons at various places demanding hanging. On the afternoon of August 24, in front of the main gate of the Zilla Parishad, the festoons containing photos of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, MP Abu Zahir and other top leaders of Awami League were torn down by fire, and the accused tried to destroy the spirit of the liberation war by recording videos and spreading them through the media. When the issue came to the attention of Awami League leaders and activists, protest meetings and demonstrations were held. Following this, the police arrested Hafizul Islam Hafiz and his accomplice Shaheen Talukdar from Aushkandi. The two arrested people were sent to jail by the court on Sunday afternoon.
Investigating officer SI Mominul Islam PPM said that two people have been arrested and sent to jail. Efforts are on to nab the others. On the other hand, other accused in the case are said to be fleeing the city to avoid arrest.
