At the end of the meeting, the transport owners and workers called off the indefinite transport strike in Habiganj with the assurance of the administration. As a result, the bus service has started from Monday (November 21) evening.

Shankh Shubhra Roy, General Secretary of Habiganj Motar Malik Group, confirmed this on Monday (November 21).

From last Friday (November 18), the District Transport Owners Sramik Oikya Parishad started a fixed-term strike against the administration’s ban on taking cars to government bus stands and the demand to stop illegal CNG autorickshaws. After three days of strike, a conciliation meeting of transport owners and workers was held with Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Jahan on Monday afternoon. The owners and workers called off the strike when they promised to accept the demands of the workers in the meeting.
In this regard, the general secretary of the organization Shankh Shubhra Roy said that the administration will take action against illegal vehicles on the highway after a long discussion in the administration meeting and a committee consisting of 7 members has been formed in the case of Salamatpur bus stand in Nabiganj. The administration has assured to take necessary action based on the report of the committee.

It is to be noted that the workers-owners had been observing the transport strike since last Friday. This caused widespread public suffering in Habiganj.
