Bangladesh will play directly in the 2024 World Cup

The next edition of T20 World Cup will be held in 2024. Although 16 teams are playing this time, the next season will be played with 20 teams. West Indies and USA do not have to play in the qualifiers as hosts. Bangladesh will be able to play directly in the main stage as it is in the top ten of the ranking in the upcoming World Cup. Not only that, Afghanistan will also participate directly with Bangladesh. This has been confirmed by the governing body of world cricket, ICC.
According to the rules, the two hosts will play the top eight teams of the current World Cup in the main stage. The remaining two teams, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, are getting a chance as they are in the top ten of the rankings till November 14. Bangladesh is ninth in T20 ranking. And the tenth place of Afghanistan.
The remaining 8 teams will be determined through continental qualifiers. Two teams from Africa, Asia and Europe will get a chance after qualifying. One team each from America and East Pacific region will get opportunity. 20 teams will be divided into 4 groups. There are 5 teams in each group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super-Eights.
